CG Jensen has constructed the shell structure for a large development spanning approximately 95,000 square meters at Postgrunden in central Copenhagen. The project will consist of multiple buildings with residential and hotel towers, forming a significant development near Copenhagen Central Station, on the site of the old postal terminal.
The Postgrunden project is being developed by KPC for Danica Ejendomme, with CG Jensen responsible for the 95,000 square meter shell structure, which includes five towers, the tallest reaching 115 meters. The development will feature hotel apartments and residences, as well as a 10-story multi-user building. Additionally, the project includes a two-story underground parking facility covering 20,000 square meters and an office building of approximately 30,000 square meters.
For a project of this scale, where repetition can be leveraged, it is crucial that every detail is meticulously planned with respect to execution. Non-constructible solutions can significantly impact the overall timeline and completion date.
CG Jensen hired CN3 to conduct several iterations to optimize the reinforcement design, ensuring efficient execution. By using virtual mockups and a proven VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) methodology, CN3’s team, in collaboration with the client, ensured that the pace of construction could be maintained and material waste minimized on this extensive project.
