Ny Ellebjerg Station (København Syd) will be the second busiest station in Copenhagen, connecting the Metro, S-trains, and regional trains in one large junction.
CN3 was commissioned for the role of BIM manager in the design phase.
As part of developing the project, it became clear that the complexity related to constructability was a design parameter that needed to be addressed across disciplines.
To do so CN3 developed an interactive platform, where designers, health & safety specialists, planners, and management could experience and interact with the construction sequence and the most critical items.
The result was several design iterations that helped the entire design team understand and mitigate project risks, during the design phase.
The use of BIM has enabled us to address the complexity and risk related to health, safety, and constructability during early planning phases. Through detailed simulations of the execution process, CN3 has provided both the planning team and us as clients, with a solid basis for decision-making as well as easing communication to other key players in the project.
